Pentacle, Pentagram?

The word "pentacle" is sometimes used synonymously with "pentagram".

Though, a pentagram usually has strokes through the center and has 5 points. The simple five-pointed star is also a pentagram.

A pentacle is a pentagram enscribed on a pendant or disc.
Sometimes this is depicted as a glyph with a circle around it, but the glyph is not in itself a pentacle.

Wiccans and Neopagans often make use of this more specific definition for a pentagram enclosed in a circle.
