I should have mentioned, YES, this GPS works perfectly, has fast response on menus and searches, gets a fast satellite position, has a clear screen with no dead pixels, has good battery life.

I try to be as complete as possible in description and photos, and never deceive or mislead my bidders. I didn't even consider to mention that it works, LOL.

If you'd like to see a specific screen or have me test a certain setting, let me know and I'd be glad to do so.

Nice! I gave my daughter an older Garmin I won on Listia but this one looks like it is much nicer. Hope to win it!

This one is actually nicer than the one I use also. Nice bright screen, fast route calculation, fast menus and quick satellite reception, custom views, etc... I just didn't like having an extra device stuck to the windshield (so I got the vent mount kit). Then I got tired of that, and spent big bucks for a car radio with integrated GPS. But this is still the nicest GPS I've ever used. :)

I just looked up the app info and Navigon is now a Garmin product/company, so this unit might be essentially the same as the old navigon units. I think mine are about three years old, and I can't do map updates but I've rarely had a problem. The roads just don't change very often!

I didn't know that! The Navigon software is very good. I can take the memory card out of my unit and adjust settings that aren't available via the screen. It's easy to look up a fix if you have a problem, but I've never had a problem. I can also copy all my saved destinations from one unit into the other, which has been very handy.

I don't use a fancy cell phone so I never download apps, don't have an Ipad either, but that's good to know. My husband has a blackberry but doesn't pay the extra fee for the navigation service. He used to have a company phone that did have it, and it was nice! I'll have to look it up!

Thanks for the heads up!

It looks like a nice one. I bought a new car last year but to get built-in nav cost $4K more, so I declined. I actually like the removeable one so we can use it in other cars. We have two teenagers and three cars and the one I gave to my daughter to use just isn't as nice as the ones I have. Mine are Navigon, which is no longer sold in the US (it's a German brand) and they are deluxe ... I got them at an online auction and got really luck, spent about $40 each for them. Turns out they cost about $400 new. So when I won the basic Garmin on Listia, it was kind of disappointing LOL.

Did you know they have Navigon software for the iPhone and Android? Yeah, I know, I still prefer the standalone units. My favorite was a unit running iGo Primo navigation (also a German unit) but it was stolen from my wife's car :(
