Description

The listing, Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart Plant Seeds has ended.

My best friend gave me a cutting of her plant that had come from her great grandmother's plant. This auction is for 20 seeds. This is a BIG plant!! I've had it in a large pot (outside, in zone 7) for about 3 years, and it is now over 2 feet wide & 3 ft tall. IN A POT! I'll be planting it in ground this fall (was waiting to move). It is very full & pretty. The arches of blossoms have been appearing since it's first year & it grows like crazy!

Easiest way is to start them outdoors in the fall. If you live in an area that doesn't get cold for an extended period. They likely will not bloom for you. They need a cold period. Alternate way to start them now would be to plant them in a pot (just pretend you're making "thumbprint" cookies in the soil & drop a seed in the indent & cover that with soil., put the pot in a plastic bag & into your freezer for 6 to 8 weeks. The freezer thing (to me is ridiculous) as they won't continue to bloom without an annual freezing period. The foliage does die back in mid summer, and if you have a spare freezer in your garage or something it's do-able. Sorry to ramble-on, trying to fully answer your question. Feel free to ask questions!
