There are no markings on the outside of the case. Only the "Coty" on the inside. I always thought it was a J until looked at through a jewelers loop! It's a little rough looking but I didn't want to try to clean it up and do any damage. I figured someone might know how to clean it. Thanks for watching...fanned you back.

Thanks for that tip! I would have loved to clean it up before listing but just didn't know what to do and didn't want to make it worse. I've had it 30+ years and it has always looked like it does now. Thanks for sharing! :)
