Okay, here's my best answer for you. Crape myrtles grow in zones 4-9 easily. However, Vermont has many hardy zones, with THREE being one of them. Here is a website http://www.gardentimeonline.com/VermontHardinessZoneMap.html to show you which one you are in. Hope that it helps.
