Shades of rose colored 5-6" blooms on 3ft, sturdy stems which are excellent for boquets. Zinnia is among the favorite in American gardens. Loved for it's sturdy and colorful blooms.

For long, hot summers, nothing beats zinnias for brilliant color and a long blooming period. They are drought tolerant and excellent massed in flowerbeds or in containers.

Zinnias are very easy to grow, but may be susceptible to mildew in humid climates. making sure that sprinklers do not hit them overnight or early in the morning will help prevent mildew. In all climates, it is preferable to water by soaking from the bottom to keep the leaves dry. Zinnias are a low maintenence plant, but deadheading will extend the bloom period. Some gardeners recommend topping tall varieties when the young have produced 3 pairs of leaves. This will encourage branching and bushy plants.

Zinnias need full sun and rich, fertile soil. They grow best in hot, dry climates after the final frost, when the soil is warm.
