For nice new item, you might want to start at 50 or 100, not so high as to scare anyone off, but enough to reward you if you only get 1 bid. A nice tie that I might get @ the goodwill, for 3.99 ( cartoon character, nice design ) will end up going 300-400 range on Listia, if you are offering free shipping. The shipping will cost you about $2.00. Think about what you are willing to barter for your item tat you see you want.
