This is called a thread charm or Arachnias charm or even the Witches dream catcher. Made from the results of the simple act of sewing.

And as you can see, I have gone and gotten dangerous again, with sharp things like needles and the sewing machine :)

In fact, I have been doing a lot of it lately, as I am doing piece work for the company my husband works for, making pouches for the lovely little critters called Sugar Gliders, that he tends all day. ( never heard of them ? DO ask me and will be happy to tell you all about them, see pic above ) And No he is not for auction : )

Anyway, thanks to them, there will be many more of these charms. Right now, as you can figure, I am making red and black pouches, so you will see a lot of these colors for a while.

How you use it, is you hang it over your door, or from the ceiling, in your car, anywhere you like, to trap ill intent in its tangled threads, before they can enter the house, car, etc.

This is what I do with any small glass bottle in my house, that has outlived its former usefulness, meaning the lid has stopped sealing.... when that happens, the bottle becomes part of my sewing box

Once there, each snip of thread, string, etc, too short to use, in the bottle it goes, with a short spell spoken for each thread put inside. And yes, I will share the spell used if asked :)
