OMG, what an amazing piece! This Stirling silver 17-inch necklace that I purchased from Israel features iridescent glass from Roman times (yes, 2,000 years old) in the center. This is an incredible piece not only because of its history but also because of its unusual, unique beauty!

I agree... this is one of my favorite pieces, perhaps because the spirals remind me of Celtic designs (and, of course, the Romans conquered the Celtic lands a little less than 2000 years ago) so I am sure there was some significant cross-pollination of ideas and artistry at that time.
