I made this by hand. The bottom of the hat flares out for extra room if needed to be folded up around the ears. Hat will fit a newborn to about 3 months baby, depending on the size of your newborn's head. This is made out of 100% pure cotton and will keep for years and I personally have never had anything 100% cotton shrink when I wash it in warm water. However, if you do not want to take that chance, you can wash it int he machine on cold cold setting and it will not shrink. Happy bidding and if you have any questions please contact me.
