The listing, Floral and Lace Bear has ended.
Listing this handcrafted washcloth origami creation is a "first" for me because it's the first time that I used other media in creating what I believe is a lovely item.
Made of two unused washcloths, this bear is dressed in ruffles of buttercream and white lace--this is the lace theme. In each paw she carries a peach pink and yellow paper paper rose. Her feet are placed in a floral ribbon pattern(looks like an Asian design)type shoes; ironically, without intention, this bear can stand. The floral theme continues as each of the bear's ears are covered in the floral ribbon with bow ties and four peach pink and yellow roses; this same ribbon is tied around the bear's neck. Her sweet face shows "googly eyes" topped with gold ribbon eyelashes, a small pink pom pom nose and pink ribbon mouth. The "first" for me is that I utilized gel pens in painting light pink cheeks and yellow around her face and head for enhancement. I also added pink to her mouth and nose as well as pink and gold glitter glue--by doing this, the bear has a stiff feel as opposed to a washcloth feel.
I'd made something similar to this--that is a bear, or teddy bear but with a different theme--and gave it to a friend for her birthday. Not to sound big-headed, but she said that she felt "spoiled" by this gift. I figured why not list something like this here on Listia?
I'll be starting the bid a bit higher because this creation involved two washcloths as well as more medium--that is, ruffles, ribbon, roses, etc. etc. etc. as Yul Brynner would say. Please feel free to inquire if you have any questions...many thanks for looking!
