The listing, Unusual Pencil Sharpener has ended.

This, my friends, is a pencil sharpener . . . for those of you who are old enough to know what a pencil is!!! It is in the shape of a fan, and, so cool . . . drum roll . . . the blades actually turn! Yeah! Small things bring me pleasure! The knob on the back of the fan will actually make the blades turn. The pencil goes in the hole in the side of the base and . . . wallah! A sharpened pencil! This piece measures 3.5" tall. I bought it at an estate sale from a late college math professor, but I could not find this piece in my research. It is older, but I do not know the era.

Thank you! I was winding my vintage watch before class the other day and one of my students asked, "Dr. Abel, what are you doing?" I said, "I'm winding my watch so it will keep time. I'm listening for the tick." She just stared at me, along with the others! I realized then they had never seen a windup watch before . . . it has all been batteries (or cell phones now, I guess)! I challenged them to produce a pencil and a piece of paper . . . only two out of twelve had them! Everyone else had their laptop, notebook, and whatever else they are called!

I believe this would be dollhouse sized. I have a couple of these miniature pencil sharpeners myself. There was a whole line of them manufactured by Durham Industries I think. The older ones were made in Hong Kong but the newer ones from China are just as nice. Fanned and watching!
