What do you do? Just stick the flower stems right into it and that holds it together?

yes, exactly. Professionals use them for Large Hotel Lobby/Restaraunt displays.
They work for home use too. You can "arrange" and keep stems where you want them.

To be honest, First time I saw one;I didn;t know what it was either. Somebody told me(then showed me how they work)...a cute girl at a flower shop actually!
They are plastic now, with lead weight inside..Big Ones for Super large Display.
Glad to know Mom wasn't into Torture devices!

you can put them in or out of vases. i use mine to put my vintage photos in. slip the edge between the spikes, viola, stands perfectly straight, great alternative to picture frames! if you are using tin types however, you will need to a) be super careful not to scratch the tintype or b) add the tiniest bead of hot glue to the spikes so they don't scratch your tin type. hot glue comes off in peels, so it doesn't ruin the antique piece either!

otherwise, is shipping going to be over 15$? very much want these!

You know, I don't really know yet on the shipping. They are lead, so a bit heavy.
I guess part of that depends on where and how far they are going....
So, sorry...No idea yet. When they go, I'll just go see how much to ship. Fed-ex? Post Office? UPS? any favorites/suggestions-New to this....
