The listing, SolidWorks 2011-2012 Academic Student Edition has ended.

SolidWorks 2011-2012 Academic Student Edition. Recently purchased. SolidWorks is a popular and commonly used 3D parametric software that is used by Engineers and Designers in just about every field of work.

This Student Version has the full functionality of the real software, but at a fraction of the cost (a full blown version starts at $3900). The Student version places a watermark across all models, drawings and prints.

This software includes built-in tutorials and I believe a code to take the SolidWorks Certification test.

This is a great software that can be used to design just about anything. It's a great way to have your kids learn an actual skill that they can use to earn money on the side or full time. Maybe it will inspire them to get into the engineering or design field?

I have been using SolidWorks for more than 10 years now. It's a great software.

It comes in the case with a 32 & 64 bit DVD.

my sonis 10 and loves making his own version of things out of whatever he finds around the house maybe this will be put to good use in pointing him in the right direction his dad is an hot rod car builder actual cars and models and loves learning about this trade

My son is the same way. I think it's going to be a very cool gift for him. There are so many tutorials on the dvd's and online so Iknow he wont have trouble learning how to use it. Good luck!
