Thanks, I like to do this for people. I'll keep offering gifts and free shipping as long as I can. With these Coyote Claws I'll likely send some bone or metal beads as the free gift. I like to relate the gift item with the item up for bids.

Did you kill the coyote?

No, these were given to me. I live between 2 Indian Reservations and I receive many unique items from my friends. I make the Coyote claws into jewelry, but I thought I would share a few of them with my fellow Listians.

Most of the time I send rings, necklaces, earrings, flower seeds, necklace charms, and other trinkets to adults; and rings, earrings, stickers and temporary tattoos to kids.

These are pretty cool!! My husband is part Cherokee and these would make into a wonderful leather choker for him!! Myself, I prefer wolf items but these are really unique and something he would love! Fanned and watching!!

I prefer Wolf as well, but Coyote does make for good necklaces, lol. I made a necklace with them just a few weeks ago for a friend. It turned out really cool. Your husband would love it if you made him a choker with them I bet. I wish you the best of luck in bidding.

Watching and fanned. This is a fantastic auction and I will keep an eye on it. I could make a really cool cuff out of these.

Yeah these make some awesome jewelry. I hope they do well enough to get some more of them and offer them again to those who aren't able to win this one. Wishing you success on the bid!

I don't know what to say, so I'll tell everyone a little story. In Nez Perce legend and many other Native American Tribes, Coyote was an important contributor to creating us as a people and to forming the landscape around us.
In Idaho, and a few other states, many years ago (more like 20 years ago), farmers would pay hunters to kill any coyotes seen on their land because they would prey on the chickens and other small farm animals; occasionally taking larger animals such as cows. The hunters would turn over the coyote pelts to the farmers and were generally paid $5.00-$20.00 for every pelt they could turn in, depending on the condition of the pelt. I believe it is no longer legal to shoot Coyotes without a permit, but "back in the day", they were not a valued animal. Personally, I love to listen to the Coyotes howl and yip when I'm out camping and I have always valued them, both in legend and as an animal.

I live in Hillsville,Va. in the Blue Ridge mountains and it is legal to shoot the coyotes here in Carroll County! They kill alot of live stock here from chickens to cows. And the Sheriff's Department pays $50.00 per head of a coyote. But there is one here where I live at that was abandoned by it's mother and raised with domestic dogs and thinks he's just like one of them. No around here has seen his wild side come out , nor seen him go after live stock. He is protected by myself and what few neighbors I have out here. Any who, you do not need a permit of any kind here to kill a coyote here. Just a little info, who may find this interesting. We also have a 400 pound Black Bear here and so far the worst he has done, is to steal my neighbors dogs food! Lol

Thank you for sharing that, Coyotes are worth quite a bit there then. Anyone know any good Coyote Legends?

This is so cool :) There's lots of coyotes around here, and I'm always ending up with odd claws, fangs, and other bits of things my dogs seem to always be finding. One time I walked outside and they were playing with a deer antler...I'm sure they just found it though, my dogs are all bark :P fanned you!

Awesome, you should collect a few things if they are in good shape and list them. These have done really well for me. I wish I were further back into he woods around here. My dogs would be doing the same thing as yours, and my girl would take something down, if I turned her loose I'm afraid. She did some serious damage to a friend of mines' chickens and turkeys. In about 5 minutes she had killed 2 turkeys, injured one significantly, and killed four hens. It was serious carnage in no time at all. Needless to say, she is never turned loose. She's got that taste, and they don't generally loose it. She's my hunter for sure.
