The listing, HP/Compaq Windows-XP Pro (SP2) Recovery CD (32-bit) has ended.

This Recovery CD can be used to reinstall a FULL version of Microsoft Windows-XP Professional (w/SP2) onto any HP/Compaq Desktop, Notebook or even a Workstation that originally came with Windows-XP installed. You can quickly tell by looking for the COA (CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY) on the unit. This CD does not require you to enter a Product Key as it is an OEM version designed for HP/Compaq systems. NOTE: This CD will NOT work on other brands of computers without a valid Product Key.

If you can not read the CD in the picture it says, "Operating System CD Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Service Pack 2, Contains software already installed, For software re-installation and repair only." English.

I have used these CDs in the Field as an HP Certified Repair Tech for years, I have used them on the following systems, just as an example, without any issues and it will work with hundreds more, you will still need to download the specific "drivers" for your system from www.hp.com:

Notebooks:
Compaq Armada 110, m300, m700, 1500 series
HP Omnibook xe4100, xt6050, 6000, 6100, 6120
Compaq Presario R4115US, N610c
HP Pavilion zd7020
Compaq nc6120, nc8000

Desktops:
Compaq D220, D228, D230, D510, D530

Workstations:
HP/Compaq xw4100, XW6000, XW6200, XW8400

The CD is sealed in the original sleeve as it was shipped from HP, this is not a copy, it was manufactured by HP. HP Part# 409457-003.

I have a XP Professional with 5.1 2600 service pack 3. Will this work on it?

It will reinstall Windows-XP Professional with Service Pack 2. You will have to enable "auto updates" and it will download and install Service Pack 3 and any other upgrades Microsoft has released recently. If you already have XP installed you wouldn't want to wipe it out (unless you have severe virus issues, etc.) as using this CD does a fresh install. It will allow you to use the Repair Console if you need that feature.
