The Original Miami Vice-The Movie, starring Don Johnson as "Sonny Crockett" and Philip Michael Thomas as "Ricardo 'Rico' Tubbs".

Tubbs is a Bronx street cop, Crockett is a Detective at Miami Vice (not a real division, though the Metro Dade Vice Squad had a few of their own on the show as extras.
After Crockett's partner Eddie Rivera is killed, he and Tubbs meet and Lt. Rodriguez suggests a partnership. Like the good guys of old, they eventually get their man and the partnership lasts through 1987.
This T.V. Movie started five seasons of 'Fun in the Sun'. The pilot set the standard for the use of music in the series. Chosen specifically to advance the pilot, their cues are second to none. "In the Air Tonight"/Phil Collins, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun/ Cyndi Lauper, 'Somebody's Watching Me'/ Rockwell, 'Miss You'/Rolling Stones and 'All Night Long'/ Lionel Richie.
