The listing, Summer in Rio de Janeiro with Feiojada has ended.
Brazil is a country like no other. People from all origins and races have been able to come together and forge a society that while not without serious problems, has been able to celebrate its merging diversity. Its food reflects its people, and its national dish, feiojada, is the embodiment of a nation on a plate.
Feiojada is a hearty stew of beans and meats. It's very flexible - it's meant to accommodate the budgets of families living in slums and ritzy villas alike - and truly delicious. My version should fit the budget of your typical, struggling American middle class family (which by now may have become an oxymoron).

As a BONUS you will receive my recipe for farofa - a traditional starch served with feiojada - and Quindim, a delicious coconut pudding. That recipe is good enough to post on its own, but the picture I have of it is not that great, so you get it as a bonus instead!
