If this item came from China it is not all sterling no matter what your supplier says. They will say what they want you to hear so they can sell their stuff. I recently purchased a piece that came from China only to find out that only the lower shank was made of 925 sterling silver and the top base and frame was merely base metal and the stone was just colored glass. Very disappointing as I get items like this for less then cost and resell for a bit under actual cost. I know what I am talking about and so does BkAngel. Our market is flooded with crap and the seller whom provided this crap will not even take back or refund purchase price. This message is not meant to be rude but merely informative information to keep you safe from this growing problem. To find out what part of jewelry is not real run a magnet over it and the part the attaches to the magnet is bad and not real. You can also take your items to your local jewelry and they will test it for free. Or you can buy your own testing supplies off ebay or amazon. Make sure you have a very strong magnet, you can buy them online as well. When you give stuff away like this and winner finds it not to be true to what you listed it as they can send it back and have their credits refunded. You are the one whom will be hurting then, so protect your self and have items tested before listing or list as costume jewelry. Hope this helps. TY W

I have cut a couple of these rings in half and so far all I've cut are solid all the way through, but I will get a test kit and double check them out.I myself have been wearing one of these rings for over 6 months and it still looks like the day I bought it. I am not a dishonest person so if they arn't pure silver I will tell it in my auctions.

Other people are selling these as stamped, but silver plated, not sterling.

Silver is not pure silver when it comes to jewelry hence is why they mark it .925 the purest of silver is .999 troy oz. So cutting them still does not clarify it is pure and is just a waste of time.
Silver Markings
The definitive marking for fine silver jewelry is "Sterling" which is .925 pure silver, mixed with minimal base metals. It is commonly marked "925". A "900" stamp on silver tells you that it is 9 parts pure silver and 1 part other metals.

Considerations
If you want to know the purity of an unmarked piece of jewelry, a reputable jeweler can test it for free or small fee. You can also purchase a precious metal testing kit; however, these are not always easy to use and understand unless you are adept at reading the results.

Warning
Even hallmarked jewelry can be faked. Unscrupulous dealers can simply purchase a stamp and mark inferior items with a realistic-looking hallmark. When in doubt, have the item tested.

Thanks, all mine are marked 925 and the size, when I get the test kit nin I;ll know more. As to a jeweler, there aren't any closer than 40 miles away from this dinky town I live in, so I'll have to rely on the test kit.
