How long are these overall? You can still buy these today but the older ones were bigger & the quality is much greater than what you get now. I have a pair from th early 80's& a pair that were my grandmas from the late 40's- it's real obvious which set is better! I've used both sets since I got them 30 years ago & they just last&last- still sharp from the first cut! The fact that they're German made is a clue to their age&quality-the ones out now are from China.I think the New York shear co. is now owned by Fiskars. I love my birdies & wouldn't stitch without them!

Nice ~ They measure about 1 and 1/4 inch length and about 1 and 1/2 inch wide at the fingers.

Yeah they're pretty neat they were my mother's from at least the 1960's or earlier.

Are they in working order and still cut a smooth cut?
Thanks

Yes they work great and are very sharp. They came in a custom gift box as a season's greetings gift from back in the 60's or earlier, and I don't think they were ever even used.
