no what I mean is after you catch a fish how do you get the line back in the water to catch another fish or is it a one time only fish catcher? with the same line or do you have to put new line on it every time?

Its a drop line, you can use it with it tied to a rock or dropp it off the side of a boat, or as a fish line tied to a plastic milk jug. It comes with 60 lb line on it, I am not sure how many feet of line it has, it can be used over and over just like any reel, You drop the line and when a fish grabs the hook and takes off it rewinds itself and brings the fish in. Its a easy way to fish and great on backpacking trips so you do not have to carry a whole fishing rig with you.
