The listing, Old Avon Bottle - (GREEK?) Lady has ended.
Here's an interesting old Avon bottle my mom gave to me - I think it was something else passed down from my grandmother's estate.
This is a tall slender lady in a costume carrying a bowl of water on her head. She appears to be in ancient Greek or Roman clothes.
This bottle stands 11" tall, and the base, which is the widest part, is 3" across. The bottle is made of white glass, and has goldtone (plastic) accents - a laurel in her hand, and the waterbowl on her head.
I could find no date anywhere on her, but would estimate that she's from the 70's. The label on the bottom is faded, but still readable, and says" AVON SKIN-SO-SOFT BATH OIL - 8 FL OZ" and this strange warning "AVOID DIRECT CONTACT WITH STYRENE PLASTICS", as well as Avon Company address.
There is actually still some of the original bath oil in the bottle (it's about 1/3 full), but I don't think I can mail liquids anymore. I'll ask for details when I make the daily run to the post office tomorrow, and update this auction when I know more. If I'm not allowed to mail liquids, I'll have to dump it out, and you'll only receive the empty bottle. If I'm allowed, I will ship bottle as is, and you can decide what to do with it!
Bottle is securely packaged (with lots of bubble wrap and packing peanuts in a box) and ready to take to the post office at auction end - all I need is your mailing address and your money for shipping.
$5 shipping (it's large, long, and heavy, remember?), anywhere in U.S.
I accept PayPal, concealed cash, or postal money order as payment for shipping. I do offer combined shipping on items won in the same 7-day period - take $1 off each additional item's shipping cost.
Thanks for looking, and browse through my other auctions, too!
