Working, husband cleaned it out for the new winner, I placed new battery in the unit and turned on. Works great, also has holder.

Looks like a very nice item, and you've given so much information--thank you! I only want to ask if you have any idea how much playing time one would get starting with new batteries. (I have rechargeable AAAs, so it's not a big issue, but I'd like to have some sense of how long I can expect it to play continuously.)
