For future reference guys, here is a good way to tell the difference between ECC and Non-ECC ram just from the picture. Non-ECC ram, the kind most people need, has an even number of chips on both sides (usually 8 chips per side). Now, as you can see in the picture of this item for example, the modules have 9. 8 small chips, and then the "buffer" chip in the center.

this has chips on each side one side has chip in the middle and when put on top of my ddr2 ram from my pc the notch is a lil off so it wouldnt fit in my other board the ddr2 ram in my pc only has chips on one side.

Okay. Well i run a web hosting company and have abit of co-located server's but this dosnt seem to run on any of my server's or racks.

I belieave it's for a LAPTOP. HP usually make's these for there multimedia laptop's but i'm not sure. I'll watch and see how it goes, wish i knew fersure.

Its not for a laptop (to long) Laptop memory are 2/3 the size and it cant be old laptop memory because there 1 GB , I looked up the ram specs and it does say host server ram! Like i said before it matchies up all most perfect to my DDR2 in my PC now "Almost" the notch in the middle is a 30 sec off not much at all just enuff not to fit..

@jayrich, these aren't for a laptop. This looks to be 240 pin, and laptop memory is 204 pin.
