Art Nouveau Necklace~ transition era @ 1925
Very French in Styling with faux or french jet beads and Venus shell main detail. Features a barrel clasp. Very lovely. Not marked but think it is gold washed over?
Very Pretty and authentic to the Era, not a revival piece.
The Nouveau movement interspersed between Georgian and Victorian all the way to the Art Deco Time. Very hard to date the piece but could be as early as 1880. I feel it is later at around 1920 to 1925 transitioning into art deco but who knows. The barrel clasp was used very early so hard to say. Nouveau was a artistic movement began by artisans and flourished until the harder and edgier Art Deco Era beginning in 1925. So it is at minimum 97 years old and in great shape!
