This is a new genuine rose quartz and dark olivine pendant. The metal is sterling silver and is stamped .925. It measures 2 1/4" long X 1 1/4" wide.

Olivine is sometimes called the evening emerald or peridot. Peridot is a gem variety of the olivine mineral group. The bottle green color is called peridot. Yellowish green is chrysolite. Olive green is olivine. It occurs in mafic and ultramafic igneous rocks. It is also found in metamorphic rocks and serpentine deposits as a primary mineral. The amount of iron decides what color the stone will be. Dark green is the most expensive. It can be found in the green beaches of Hawaii as well as in the meteorites, on Mars, and on the moon. It is mined in Egypt, Pakistan, Australia, and US {Az. & New Mexico}.
