The listing, Huge Buddha! has ended.

While I was in Michigan I picked this Buddha up thinking he looked different then the one I already own. But they are exactly the same, so I decided to share him with one of my Listia friends! He is heavy, and made of resin. About 7 in tall and 5 in wide. There is a small chip at the bottom which is not even noticeable unless you flip him upside down. (see pic 2) I got him from a flee market in michigan from an Asian guy that I buy from alot. I hope he goes to a home where he will be appreciated :) so good luck everyone!

Since he's so heavy I put a small shipping fee but if it goes over 5,000 credits I will do free shipping! So bid bid bid :))

I agree with Princess Pebbles, humans can be very fickle, especially when it comes to deification. I know some professionals (drs. attorneys, and their ilk) who are well entrenched in "self-deification." Many, many of those humans choose to worship money, then others, peruse and worship various symbols of power.... automobiles, houses.... their John Deere, whatever. As defined in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, god refers to someone [or something] of supreme value. Siddhartha Gautama didn't want to be seen as a god, but human worship that resulted after his death, such as statues as these are used as idols for prayer, food offerings, and the burning of incense in his behalf. If they believe he is a god and worship him like a god, then he is a god to them. It's a logical fallacy to believe he's not a god because he was human, since Jesus was also human and I feel like he was MY God in the flesh in MY beliefs. Also, as the dictionary puts it, even an object can be a god.
