WIKIPEDIA
Alexander Emmanuel "Alex" Rodriguez (born July 27, 1975) is an American professional baseball third baseman with the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. Known popularly by his nickname A-Rod, he previously played shortstop for the Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers.

Rodriguez is considered one of the best all-around baseball players of all time.[1][2][3] He is the youngest player ever to hit 500 home runs, breaking the record Jimmie Foxx set in 1939, and the youngest to hit 600, besting Babe Ruth's record by over a year. Rodriguez has fourteen 100-RBI seasons in his career, more than any other player in history. On September 24, 2010, Rodriguez hit two home runs, surpassing Sammy Sosa's mark of 609 HRs, and became the all-time leader in home runs by a player of Hispanic descent.[4]

In December 2007, Rodriguez and the Yankees agreed to a 10-year, $275 million contract. This contract was the richest contract in baseball history (breaking his previous record of $252 million).

wow...et tu...lol...yes i am aware what the card is and now you gave up all the info...thanx...its his equivalint to his super rookie...2nd year card...its called a rookie class card smart guy...and it still holds value to some of us...see my point is something i learned a long time ago from my grandma...if you have nothng nice to say then shut ur mouth...lol...look every word that is said on these msg boards can make or break an auction...we ALL know that...so when i see people making comments that moraly may not be a good choice...i speak up...now since its a lady that put this auction up...even though i seen that its not his true rookie...but his rookie class card 2nd year...i understood the confusion...thats what she thought she had...but its not right for me to scare off all her potential customers by blasting her mistake across her auction...morals...even though it could potentially save me credits by driving the bid down...it is what it is...it is every bidders responsiblity to do their OWN homework on whatever they chose to bid on...just want to help...lol

You learn something new everyday. I also believe everyone should do their own homework. I have to do a certain ammount myself just to list this and I found the word *rookie* by this card, I did not make a mistake.... rookie class? Close enough for me.. to be right. lol. Good luck to every serious bidder!!

There is a 1994 Collector's Choice card that is his true rookie - I happen to have it. It is unfortunate that they printed the word rookie on the card you listed as that usually denotes first card but it is not (think of it like those Topps cards that had the rookie trophy on the card - wasn't their true first rookie card usually). I have last year's Beckett and the 1995 was at max, $1.25 value then - not sure now. The 1994 was worth up to $10. Shawn, we are merely trying to ensure that someone does not get the wrong impression about the card. Everyone should be doing their own due diligence in researching a card before bidding but the lister chose to go with the rookie connotation even though Beckett DOES NOT SHOW the card as a rookie card (RC) (it shows the 1994 Collector's Choice card as RC). Now, Lister - you might be able to get a refund for the Featured Auction cost by telling Listia of your mistake in that you thought the card was worth more but isn't - if anything, they might give you a link for a future use of a featured auction. Your call. Just want to help.

I didnt "say" it was worth anything. Also, just so you know, it does not cost points to get a featured auction. Listia decides whether or not to make it featured. Usually you have to ask but this one just got "featured" all by itself. So you must be new and welcome to LIstia!! :)

Well, smarty... what I had to say was nice and helpful and not attacking in any way (so, no need to shut my mouth - you could be following your own Grandma's advice). I wish I had found this auction earlier on to help with the info, especially for the lister. Perhaps the better play here is for the lister to request that Listia has this auction be thrown out due to the mistake and restarted without Featured Auction status (saving the lister credits) and a better description, unless the leading bidder wishes to keep his bid and chance to win the auction as is. In any case, be rest assured Shawn - I am not accusing the lister of trying to do this intentionally and believe this was an honest mistake. I was just doing my part to help educate both lister and potential bidder of the issue before it was too late. Nuff said? (please say yes, Shawn)

Now this seems rude to one of my bidders, a potential customer. You say you want to help. Thank you but I have said I made no mistake we all have our own opinion. Im Mac Mall main and this is my opinion. Thank you!! Featured = Listia's choice. Are you holier than thou? Im sure if someone wanted to change their bid, they would message me privately or ask listia by filing a support ticket or even commenting on this message board. (You said enough the first time, teacher, I learned my lesson,) :)

uhhh no...its not your responsibility to EDUCATE anyone...why...are you listia...are you a high bidder...even a bidder at all...im in it to win it...like i said...its not my place or anyone elses...its our own responsibility to do our own homework...and to allways remember... anything said to put a value or importance and significance on anyones auction is immoral...whether it helps or hurts the auction...sorry you dont see it that way...who cares what its worth...it has worth to some of us obviously...we are bidding...this very nice rookie class 2nd year card...there you happy...can still complete someones collection...at least thats why i got my hat in the mix...do you see what i mean now...i could have pointed the same issues you keep wanting to hold onto and save my self a little action...but no...like i said i have morals...and im sure im not the only one that feels that way...just tired of people wanting to talk down auctions to either get a cheaper price or just to feel like they EDUCATED someone...if someone makes a bid and didnt do their homework thats their bad...not mine ...not yours...not anyones...be honest if this was a arod rookie...which you allready own...and it was mislabled as just a regular series card...are you gonna educate the masses to get the buyer more action to bid against you...or are you gonna keep the books shut for your own benifit...see what you could have done if you were trying to be so helpful is sent a private msg to the seller to help educate her about her card...right...at least thats what i did earlier...to be helpful... so im sure once she gets on listia she will...and probaly on her own accord would have...address her auction...cause its her auction...not ours....BAM SCHOOLED...lol...sorry just trying to get a laugh...

Wow this little card has made men turn against men. lol. I dont know what else to do to respond at this point, other than have fun with it. I guess I have been this whole time anyway. The whole auction is for fun. These are trading cards, some may be worth money, I like to think that a baseball fanatic, and avid A-rod fan, will exchange me a few credits, (mere computer pixels made to look like numbers) and then I can protect it and send it to that person who will be happy because they have it and it is considered a "rookie class" and cherish it because they are not high-matinence. LOL. Its a joke because that is normally a term for a woman, Like I said, let's all just have fun. :)

No problem, Shawn... Have fun! Yes, I mixed up Featured with Premium, sorry. Perhaps Listia needs to do their homework on what auctions they Feature in the future too! :) And don't say what I did was immoral as that was not the case in any way, shape, or form. I may not be Listia, but I am a Listia veteran and I try to do my part to help people on here and many on here have welcomed that help - I have not had anyone before refuse that help or take offense to that help. Keep trying to get yourself to laugh... you laugh alone. I won't waste any more time on you. As for the lister - i had not heard anything from you - I apologize if my help was not welcome. I hope your future transactions, selling or buying, go well.

"Fun" thank you for saying that. You are an educator, yet you confuse the word "Feature" with "Premium"... oh I see the confusion, they both have the letters E and U. So I guess I made a mistake once again. :)

not a problem...and so you know i wasnt saying you are salting her auction on purpose...just trying to get you to think about it...maybe in the future you will send a private msg to whomever you want to help instead of blasting their business across the boards...which affects auctions...i take it personal because it keeps happening to not only my auctions but other peoples as well...and im tired of it...i have one of those root for the underdog personalities...lol...seriously though it is getting out of hand...the worst ones are the ones that are high bidder on an auction and then start calling into question if a card is real...they make statements like its a reproduction...its fake...etc...scanless...just to kill the action...i hope you dont take it personal but as soon as one comment goes unchecked...others join in...i also am a listia vet...maybe not as long as some...but ever since i found listia...i fell head over heels...lol...and if we dont get rid of the bad apples that dirty up listia then we will all suffer...people will lose intrest and then where will we get our treasures...i truly like that i can auction things others find to be a treasure and then turn around and win what i find to be my treasures...

You to, buddy, thats enough out of you. He really tries to help out if he thinks he can. Everyone has a different perception of a lot of things. Im sure there has been at least one person who didn't take kindly to the condescending comments of this older gentleman. Im used to it because my father went to college four times, to earn his Juris Doctorate degree so he kind of reminds me of my pops, lets not be so down on him... I have no business my customers can't read. If I made a mistake, then I did. I feel I did not though, and if I did everyone can see which card it is. It's not like there's no picture and my words are the only "sales" pitch I have. I understand there are different rookie cards for sports players now. Some that are second year say rookie or are classified as rookie... something. I took pictures so everyone can see exactly what it is and Im here to answer or research questions not to do..... whatever this is. LOL.. Im joking dude I hope we've all gotten our jollies and I hope we go on to lead rich, full lives. You are very true about treasures, I dont care about this baseball card, but I am probably going to get a new piece of makeup or an old toy for one of my kids. I have seen my share of comments that talk down an auction. I look at a lot of purses, girly designer type things, or even electronics. "Does it even work?" "That is a knock-off"... I feel we should only question the newbies so rigorously because they are new and either just starting or trying to sell and leave without delivering. Once someone has a high seller rating, then we should give it a rest and trust the rating more. I appreciate all of the comments made, even the ones I made lite of. Just wanted to ease the tension in the room. Sorry a moran tin I thought you were new because of the comments, I mean the ones that were "Listia ignorant"

Good Luck to all!! Hope you have all enjoyed the show.
(Curtains close)
*Fingers crossed*
