Description

The listing, GORGEOUS Peridot Ring! has ended.

OK..here's the deal.... I bought this from a "lady" who assured me that it was, indeed 14kt, but that it had been sized and the mark removed accidentally. Can you say SUCKERRRR??? Yep..I trust people too easily. I actually wore it for about a year before putting it away in my jewelry box in favor of another ring. Recently, I took it to a jeweler, who broke the news to me that it's not 14kt..but 14kt Gold Plated.
Now, apparently it's a really GOOD plating, because my skin turns green when I walk by the costume jewelry counter..and this one didn't make a mark on me for a year! Also..no tarnish, fading, nothing...still looks new.
and..it's DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! The stone is faceted and curved. Ornate setting. These pics are after it's been in a box for a year...NOT polished.
So, there's the story......bid if you like it!

Hi, hun, say did the Jeweler actually test the ring in front of you with any kind of method? Just curious, because there are a lot of Jewelry stores out there now, they seem to have no clue, lol, very pretty :)

::sigh:: yes, this guy is a "semi-friend" (we've given him SOO much biz)..he did that scratch-acid-no bubble thingie that they do. I also have 2 bracelets from the same woman that are absolutely EYE POPPING- gorgeous! I will be listing them when I come back from vacation next Thursday. You'll FLIP when you see them!

Its very pretty, but I only do free shipping items. Would you consider making it free shipping? Shipping such a small item is very inexpensive. Thanks

Sorry..no. I have too many items on Listia to offer free shipping. The shipping is, indeed, low..and the item is, after all, free. :)

Did the guy you took it to confirm that the stone was in fact Peridot? Just asking as I too have been taken & I've been in the Jewelry bus for 30yrs I started young but the best way to deter buyers remorse is to ask questions. Thanks so much.

NO..I"m sorry. I was so ..um...annoyed at that moment, I didn't think to ask him to test/check the stone. I guess, based on the woman's "integrity level", you better assume that it's not..and bid appropriately. It IS gorgeous, though!
