If it is just marked 925 it is just metal. A expect told me that it has to have '.925 sterling silver" stamped on it. The whole thing on it.

Hi hopeforall i dont know if that is true i have alot of silver that is just stamped 925 & its streling silver from the jewerlers. I hope these are real.

Hi, I would like to clear this up for you. 925 means 92.5% silver. Some pieces are just stamped with 925 which means they are sterling silver. Other pieces are stamped sterling silver and some are stamped S.S. hope this helps.
