The listing, Classic era 1936-7 Liberia Stamps, Scott #s 259-270 MH, plus airmails, est CV $8.25 has ended.
Up for auction or GIN is an interesting and somewhat unusual group of 1936-7 stamps from the west African country of Liberia. It appears that regular issue stamps in 1936 in Liberia were created by overprinting official stamps and canceling the nice curly "official" overprint with a big star. Also, in my Scott catalog, the airmail stamps for 1936 were included among the regular issues, (although they were given "C" designations), which I hadn't seen before. If anyone can explain this, please feel free to comment.
