not stupid at all...its an e-reader; you can buy or sometimes borrow books,magazines and newspapers and download them onto it and read them. you can find more info at barnesandnoble.com :)

There are no books on it- they were all removed immediately when I de-registered it from by Barnes and noble account... There are free books on the b&n website and some libraries have e-book loans.
