This is a white Classic Apple iPod 20gb 4th generation

**Note- This does show the Sad iPod icon (as shown in pictures). There are scratches (also as shown) from use, these are not deep. The center pad of the click wheel does show use. No cables are included.

I have a nano that I use now, and since this iPod is showing the sad icon I figured someone could either use this for parts or fix it.

How's was the battery life on it before it broke?

It was always good. It still holds a charge now, I charged it for the pictures to show the icons and it's still showing the Apple logo and iPod icon.

The error it's showing on the screen means that it's either a hardware issue and you need something internally fixed or it's as simple as a new update on software which you can easily get from the Apple website.

This is what I was able to find online searching the Model # MP102 + HP.
The reason for the HP logo is because it is a shared venture between HP and Apple, they also manufacture 40gb versions. HP picks up slack of manufacturing and distribution because Apple couldn't keep up with demand. Apple/ HP brand Ipod is EXACTLY the same as the Apple Brand Ipod. The only few difference are listed here:
1. HP Logo
2. Available HP Ipod custom printable skins
