The listing, Antique Branch Coral Bracelet- Investment Jewelry has ended.

Beautiful Antique Bracelet with Spezetti Salmon Colored Branch Coral. Believe this item to be from the early 1930's This is Investment Jewelry~ Expect the prices to continue to go up as the supply goes down. Twenty years ago you could buy a bracelet like this for under $25 today it averages about $100 in another decade it could be $500 or more. Many like this one are selling in the high $300 range. And the deeper the color and the older the piece the more it is valued. This is Salmon Orange which is desirable but not rare. Blood Red is the rarest but you need to be very wealthy to afford it. There are many different corals and color is somewhat determined by the ocean or sea that it was harvested from. This bracelets coral was likely from the sea of Japan.
Measures 7.4" including the brass box clasp ( which works well)
Please do your due diligence on this item. It does justify my starting bid. The older ones can go into the Hundreds $$$ but can be found less on some sites likely from the recession. This Bracelet is in very good+++ Condition. It is illegal to harvest coral from reefs as they are dying from pollution and coral today is white with small amounts of coral color. It is not illegal to sell vintage or antique coral items!
The only coral still legal to harvest is black coral found in the pacific ocean near the hawaiian islands and only native peoples can harvest and they do so responsibly.

Caring for coral: Coral is a soft fibrous gemstone and can be damaged by chemicals. Please use a moist soft cloth and gently wipe your branches allow to dry naturally. Refrain from wearing perfume on the wrist if you will be wearing your bracelet, this can damage your bracelet.
Store carefully in a covered box to avoid scratching or breakage. The current supply of coral is available only to the antique and vintage market goods. Coral Jewelry is an investment now and you can expect the price to continue to go up as the supply dries up.

Your info about coral is quite accurate! My uncle used to sell these in his store and the Japanese were into these. I didn't care for it much (as I was still a child), but have realized now why they're worth more. On Guam, its illegal to take coral and have known of non-locals getting caught and arrested. I can't afford it and resort to plastic beads in coral shades for my crafts. But, I'm going to be watching!

Yes, i have heard some people have dyed lighter coral to sell on a popular auction site and the dye comes if it gets wet. The only legal harvest is for native hawaiians of black coral which is gorgeous but spendy too~ Thanks for the input, Cardinal2
