Steel plate engraved picture of seven early Confederate Generals from about 1865 to 1875. The picture features Generals Smith, Hardee, Morgan, Bragg, Hood, Forrest, and Polk. The picture contains rank and name of general under the individual pictures and in small type at bottom under General Polk is "Eng* by H. B. Hall NY" (Engraved by H. B. Hall of New York) The picture was specially printed for use in limited edition Civil War book or for individual sale. The picture features extremely share engraving of early print from steel plate but has some discoloration from age around top and left side edge of picture, right side appears to have been trimmed either to remove discoloration or possibly to better fit a frame? Some age spotting are visible and bidders are advised to enlarge the picture above. The above picture was scanned darker to clearly show age and other discoloration on this nearly 150 year old picture. The fact it features Confederate generals, including lesser known ones makes it highly collectible for Civil War and history fans.
