Well I bought it in January of this year so I'm thinking it should be good till then but I don't know how these companies operate. When you pick your number they might make you pay for a year when u hook it up. I know I still have my phone number activated on the website until I cancel it cus I still get phone messages without the phone even hooked up.

i called Magic Jack about this, and they said the once you (the original buyer) opened to box and used it, even if it was only once, that YOU will remain the ONLY one that can have this exact unit in YOUR name, that if you sell it, that whoever buys it will have to keep it in your name, (which I told them is completely dumb) but thats what they said, you can call and ask yourself and have them tell you, and the number costs 10 bucks to change and 15 to transfer (to say if I wanted it to be my home number) and she said it has to stay in your name~Isn't that rediculous? Just thought anyone wanting to win this should know this and call themselves to find out all about the obstacles in transfering it because they make it practically impossible and thats sad considering this is an item that costs good money and should be not be this hard to transfer ownership~Sorry, but thats just my opinion, but I kid you not, thats what they said. (also I fanned you~good luck with your auction~)
