The listing, 2GB iPod Nano (1st Gen.) with sync cable has ended.
I am listing a first generation iPod nano with 2 GB storage for your music and photos. This model does NOT have video playback. I will also include the official sync cable. It would be perfect to use at the gym because it is so small and lightweight.
Questions & Comments
The Sync Cable. Oh And Btw, Im winning this *****.
croc122: You should go to the Apple website and put the serial number in for the Nano, then report your findings. If it comes up as one that is eligible for an exchange, and people know it ahead of time - your bids would certainly sky rocket.
Puerto Rico is a USA territorial island is considerated domestic, and the tracking cost .80 cents. Thanks, anyway I had only 13,000 so already went to high for me. Fanned, and watching. Thanks.
Every one ive entered as qualifed, but here is what apple says on their own website:
"Apple has determined that, in very rare cases, the battery in the iPod nano (1st generation) may overheat and pose a safety risk. Affected iPod nanos were sold between September 2005 and December 2006."
Now, if you do a little research, you'll see that a very large majority of 1st gen nano's were made during that time period. Very very few were made outside of that time period, less then 10%. So you have a 9 in 10 chance of having the right ipod nano for the program, and ive yet to be turned down. I heard on a podcast this morning (leo laporte), that said that Apple just said to replace all 1st gen's sent in. They're not destroying them. They have some type of program set up to refurbish and send out to 3rd world countries who are still using giant walkmans.
Actually, not 'all' 1st Generation Nano. If you take a peek at this zdnet.com article on the launch of the replacement program, you can note that he says:
"Not all first-generation iPod nano units are affected - entering your serial number here will tell you if your device is affected."
Originally, they were replacing them with 1st Gen Nano units - but then they ran out and switched it to the newer Nano unit.
I am pretty sure that not ALL 1st Gen Nano units are included because I sent a head's up on this exact issue to a friend of mine on eBay who happened to post one up for auction just last week, and here is a copy/paste of his reply relative to it:
"Hey - thanks a bunch for the heads up on the nano thing, I really appreciate it. I tried to enter the serial number, but sadly my ipod is not part of the replacement program, thus, no go on that one..."
Everyone already knows dude, its ALL 1st gen ipod nano's. Not some, or certain ones or this kind or that kind, its ALL 1st gen ipod nanos. I cant really explain it any clearer then that. I think this is the 3rd time ive said it actually. So if you dont believe me, ok, even better for me then.
Thats why these are going for around 20-25k lately. Ive been getting lucky and scoring some locally lately, and a few on here. Im holding onto a few of my new 6th gen nano's till the price goes back up after everyone sells theirs off. Other then that though, these are by far the most well built Ipods of any kind that they've ever made. Solid construction and materials and lasts forever.
And its a 8GB nano, retail value $129, but so many people are doing it right now, they've driven the average sale price for one to $74 on ebay. So selling one there is nearly impossible. Its easier to get rid of it here, but people are doing it here too, lol.
Actually your wrong, you dont bring it into an apple store, cause Apple technically doesnt handle it, a 3rd company in Atlanta handles it. You have to go onto Apple's website, give them some info, then you will get an envelope in the mail a few days later from Fed Ex. When that comes in, you put your Ipod nano in the envelope, and call Fed Ex to pick it up the next day or you can bring it to a Fed Ex store (not a drop off box), then about a week later, you will receive an Ipod nano 6th gen without any retail packaging (no box, paperwork, headphones, or charger cable). If you dont believe me, check out my auctions right now and you'll see I have one listed. Ive done it 6 times now. Sorry TacticalGirl, you dont quite know what your talking about, but your close.
Yes, the included sync cable that comes with all Apple products charges the iPod when you connect it to your computer. You can also purchase iPod alarm clock dock which charge the devices too.
