The listing, Sword Fern Tubers has ended.
Swordferns produce multiple tubers. Each tuber can sprout into a new plant. Some large tubers will form multiple new plants.
A plus is that the tubers are perfectly edible. In Sumatra they are often eaten as snacks. They can be used raw, or, cooked. When dried, they can be used as a caffeine free coffee substitute.
Whether planting outside, or, in pots, use a blend of Miraclegrow potting soil (or, the generic equivalent - composted cow/rabbit/horse manure), and, peat moss. Blend these with the existing soil if planting outdoors. Most ferns need shade to dappled shade in order to thrive. This species has naturalized in most of Oregon, and, should thrive in any South facing Zone 7 area if provided with adequate moisture, and, winter mulch. I recommend leaving the dry fronds intact. They protect the crown from excessive cold, and, provide housing for beneficial predatory insects that protect the rest of your garden.
This listing is for 1 Sprouted tuber. Most of them, even the smallest have a minimum of 3 fronds, some have 5. Plant immediately on arrival. Treat as an indoor plant until nighttime temperatures are consistently above 40°F.
