The card doesn't have an expiration date, it just activates when you enter the code. And yes, the actual card will be mailed. On the back, you scratch off the code.

Will we receive a reciept that proves it was activated? As I said, I intend to give this as a gift if won, so the code won't be used immediately.

I checked the website and it seems that when you enter the code, you also need to create a Marvel account with email and payment information. I assume that the person receiving the subscription will get an email confirmation.

That is the process to redeem the gift card.

What I'm asking about is the activation. When the card is purchased at a store, they activate it at the register and give you a receipt. This is so people can't just steal cards from the display. I'm not saying you did, but I'm wondering if we'll have proof that this was activated at purchase, otherwise the card is useless if it hasn't been activated.

I actually received it as a gift when I went to New York Comic Con, so I honestly don't
know. I'm pretty sure the guys who work there already activated it though.
