I used worsted weight yarn such as Red Heart for this. Any yarn would do I imagine but I prefer red heart. It's an easy pattern, all single crochets and has minimal shaping. This is 1 piece when you're finished before you whip stitch it together. My Mom, Grandma and Aunt love theirs. It's fun to do and a great way to use up leftover yarn.
