If this item is in a medium flat rate box it will be only $5.35, the weight is the same in a flat rate box.

Did you get to check out the price on usps.com on the Small Flat Rate Box for $5.35?
Its a lot cheaper. Is the post office weighting the item for it to be $7.00? It would be that price if they weight it. But not for a small flat rate.
