Thank you for looking at listing. This is a beautiful wrapped Sapphire measuring approximately 18mm X 14mm X 6mm at about 12.55+ Carats. She is wrapped with silver tone wire.

She is on a 16” silver tone necklace. It does have a stamp that says 18kgp but I don’t know for sure that it is so I am listing it as only silver tone.

She is not transparent but OPAQUE. She is a beautiful Dark Blue. Please be aware she has a blemish on her face that looks like crystals. Sapphires of this quality have a retail value of $3 to $10 per carat.
My GIN is under $1.00 per carat. !!

I have taken photos of her before wrapping so show the ct weight. I have used the lowest weight.

Can you assure this is a real sapphire

It was sold to me as a real sapphire but no I have not been to a gemologist or jeweler to have it tested. The seller has a good reputation so I have taken their word for it. It is not a top grade sapphire as I stated in the description. I do know the size matches the weight .. so it has the same gravity as a sapphire. I calculated the carat wt by size from this web site that is set up to for gems by their specific gravity http://www.csgnetwork.com/caratwtcalc.html
and that matches my scale so I do believe that it is a true sapphire. But I am not a gemologist so I can not assure you 100% it is, but all the information does match and I know that is one test a gemologist would do is to measure the specific gravity for a stone versus the weight in grams / carats.

18kgp is 18 karat gold plated -- it's not a silver tone -- in your case it's white gold plated, without knowing what is under the plate.

To test to see what's under the plate, see if it sticks to a strong magnet -- if it sticks, it's gold plated metal, if it doesn't it's not metal.

Thanks the chain acts like it wants to go to the magnet but it does not the little tag flys to it. If there is plaiting it is very thin. The value. for this is the sapphire not the chain. I just added it so it could be worn until the winner found a nice chain.
