My incredible hardy vine was planted here in California 130 or so years ago by early settlers in our region. Most likely from England by way of Japan.
This single plant is 600 or so feet in length and 6 - 10 feet tall. Springtime it is covered in huge fabulously fragrant blooms. Green all summer and goes dormant late fall heading into winter. It loves a good cold snap wintertime - blooms even moreso if it's a cold winter.
Once established, the vine is very draught resistant and easy to care for.
Very vigorous growth summertime, a foot every few days in the heat!
Soak seeds overnight beginning in warm water. Spring - Summertime, plant in a pot and keep soil moist but well draining. Once a good root and plant is established, can be place in larger pots or directly into the soil. Protect plant from frost first few years until root system is established.
