you are bidding on a lightweight cross (shiny and made of unknown material) on a leather "chain" with silver beads on either side of the cross.

It has a metal clasp to hook in the back.

This item has never been worn, and has been in my jewelry box for over a year...

no, if I wanted to use the word rope I would have -- it's not rope because of the definition of rope -- which means plies or yarns that are twisted together to give tensile strength. This is a leather "chain" -- it is not twisted nor is it comprised of other synthetic material.
Thanks for your concern about my choice of words, but it's really not necessary.
