These paper dolls have been reproduced from original vintage paper dolls. These paper dolls were for advertising purposes. You sent them proof of purchase for so many purchases of their product and a 2 cent stamp and they sent you the paper dolls with advertising on their backs. Advertising paper dolls are very collectible and also very expensive. as many did not survive the play. I have reproduced on 110 card stock. These are slightly larger than the originals however. They show all of the imperfections of the original ones. The paper was very cheap and was quick printed and so has lots of grain as do the reproduced ones. However the new card stock gives them a look of canvas. Each is made in two separate pieces, with the head and shoulder separate from the front and back of the dresses. The backs have the advertisement of the product printed on them. The insides are white and would make excellent cards or inserts for pictures for an album. Because when they are opened they have white interior...they make excellent small picture or journaling tags to go in a scrapbook. Just distress or stamp or even ad printed paper liner. wonderful vintage look.
