This is a real brass vintage skeleton key! It's about 3 inches long.

I was given a handful of these old keys and they were covered in rust. I used Rust Desolver to remove as much as possible, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, and later sealed it with a coat of glossy varnish (to protect the wearer's skin from any remaining debris). After the varnish dried, I tied a sheer black ribbon around the key so it can be worn as a necklace.
