This auction is for 4 pieces of mining scrip. For those not familiar with what mining scrip is - years ago many coal companies paid their employees with scrip instead of cash. Scrip was coins with the coal company's name and a denomination on it. The scrip could only be traded for merchandise at a store owned by the coal company whose name was on the particular pice of scrip. 1 piece is from Harlan Coal and Coke Co. in Harlan, KY. 1 piece is from Harlan Collieries. 1 piece is from Blue Diamond Coal Company. The last one I cannot make out the name. They are all in very good condition except for the last on which is dirty. I will have my daughter upload pic later. Happy bidding and God bless.
