Hey thanks for your question this scale is 500 gram max capacity which would not be good for shipping larger packages, unless you are shipping first class mail which is a pound or under then you would be ok, im pretty sure 1 pound is about 450 some grams , so this scale would weigh a little over a pound hope that helped thanks
