Description

The listing, *** GOURD MANDOLINS FROM GREECE *** has ended.

These Gourds were a gift to my mother from her next door neighbors approx 30 + years ago.
The man that gave them to her, (her neighbor) was from Greece and went there every year on vacation to see his family while my mother kept an eye on their house and watered their yard....

The first Mandolin is approx:
10 1/2" L x 2 3/4" W x 2 1/2"D
It is really a stunning piece of workmanship with real strings and has a built in music box inside it as well.
There is a gold label on the side which reads
"Made in Greece".
It plays a beautiful song, but we do not know the name of it.

The second Mandolin is approx. 7 1/2" L x 2 1/4 W x 2" D

It too is beautifully carved and has real strings, but no music box. There is also some spots on it where an old ET doll wore off onto it, which I'm sure could be cleaned off. It is also from Greece.

These would be a fantastic gift for a Music Box collector, a Gourd Collector, or for someone from Greece.

As always, Free Shipping!

Thank you for stopping and looking.

If I am correct (which I may not be) they are called Greek Bouzouki Instruments. Usually sold as souvenirs. :)

Thank you. The neighbors that gave them to my mother have passed away for many years now, so that is all she remembered of them. I will let her know. :o)

These are awesome. I am so interested in musical instruments. My mom played a mandolin and I have taught myself a few songs on it too. I would love to have these. I know that you will pack these really well and it is so nice that you ship for free. I am watching this carefully..God Bless
