The listing, HUGE LOT (34) MIP 1996 ATLANTA Paralympic Olympic Pins GA has ended.
Up for auction is a lot of 34 different 1996 Paralympic Games pins. Games were held in Atlanta, Georgia, and these pins commemorate those games. Blaze was the official mascot.
From the Wikipedia: “The Paralympic Games are a multi-sport event for athletes with physical, mental and sensorial disabilities. This includes mobility disabilities, amputees, visual disabilities and those with cerebral palsy. The Paralympic Games are held every four years, following the Olympic Games, and are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). (The Paralympic Games are sometimes confused with the Special Olympics World Games, which are only for people with intellectual disabilities.)”
Pins are scanned in packaging, but I think you can get a good idea of what they look like. I didn’t want to remove the plastic because some collectors like to keep them that way.
Sports represented on the pins: Goalball, Cycling, Swimming, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, and Equestrian. There are a couple pins with a sport represented, but not sure what the sport is… There is one sponsor pin – Jay Medical. There are two flag pins – Japan and USA, and a 500 Days Until pin. The rest are spirit / mascot pins.
Most of the cards are marked HoHo Company. ALL PINS ARE DIFFERENT. Great lot for Olympic and / or Paralympic collections!
